Nike partners with Kim Kardashian's Skims shapewear brand: 'We're incredibly excited'
Nike is keeping up with Kim Kardashian's shapewear brand Skims.
The sportwear giant and beauty mogul billionaire are teaming up to launch a "new brand" that they say will "disrupt the global fitness and activewear industry," both companies announced Tuesday.
In a press release, Kardashian said that "Nike and Skims share a deep commitment to innovation, inclusivity, and pushing boundaries, driven by an unwavering belief in the power of women."
"This partnership is the culmination of that shared vision, delivering product that is meticulously designed to sculpt and perform for every body," Kardashian said. "Every single detail has been obsessed over and carefully considered."
NikeSkims' first collection is set to launch this spring with its lines offered globally in 2026. The partnership comes as Nike has struggled in recent months to capture consumer attention.

The company also recently released a buzzy ad during Super Bowl 59 featuring a slate of all women athletes: Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark, Olympic gymnast Jordan Chiles, Olympic gold medalist Sha'Carri Richardson, U.S. Soccer's Sophia Smith Wilson, Las Vegas Aces WNBA star A'ja Wilson and New York Liberty champion Sabrina Ionescu.
The ad was narrated by Grammy Award-winning rapper Doechii.
According to Reuters, Nike's new CEO Elliott Hill is attempting to reroute the brand back to its roots. In December, the company said it was expecting third-quarter revenue to drop to low double digits after the embattled sportswear seller's quarterly results beat market estimates.

Hill, who was with Nike for more than three decades, returned as CEO in October to revive demand at the firm that has been struggling with strategy missteps that soured its relations with retailers such as Foot Locker FL.N.
Kardashian first launched Skims with Swedish businessman Jens Grede, the company's CEO, and his wife Emma Grede in 2019. After four years of business, the company was valued at $4 billion in 2023.
Kardashian recently made headlines for her appearance at the NBC's "NBC50: The Anniversary Special" on Sunday which celebrated a half century of the network's hit sketch comedy series "Saturday Night Live."

Skims has found massive success, upended shapewear industry
During a New York Times interview last year, Jens Grede revealed potential plans to take the company public someday.
"At some point in the future, Skims deserves to be a public company," he told The Times.
The KKW Beauty founder made headlines in December when she posted photos, including her riding a bedazzled knee scooter after an injury, for the grand opening of her first-ever Skims brick-and-mortar store in New York City.
"It has grown quickly, and we’re so proud of that. We’ve had a really good flow of product launches," Kardashian told The Times last year. The company announced plans to launch physical Skims stores and a Los Angeles store is still in the works.
