Volkswagen recalls 32,000 VW, Audi vehicles for rear-view camera or battery issues
Volkswagen recalled more than 30,000 vehicles for a pair of concerns: a potential rear camera issue and electric vehicle batteries possibly overheating.
The automaker is recalling 29,569 of its 2022-2024 Volkswagen Tiguan SUVs, 2023 Volkswagen Arteon sedans and 2024-2025 Audi Q3 SUVs because the rearview camera image may not display as intended, Volkswagen says in a report filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. An error may occur in the camera control unit at vehicle startup and may not show a rearview camera image. This can increase the risk of a crash, the company said in the report.
Volkswagen is also recalling 2,616 of its 2023 Audi Q5 PHEV hybrid SUVs because defective high-voltage battery cell modules may overheat, increasing the risk of a fire, according to a NHTSA report.
