Thanksgiving has arrived, which for millions of Americans means feasting on delicious holiday dishes surrounded by family and friends.

While banks and post offices will be closed, some grocery, retail and restaurant chains will remain open on Thanksgiving, albeit it mostly with adjusted hours.

If you need to make a last-minute run to the grocery store to pick up something for your holiday gathering, Walmart will not be an option for you this year, as the company told USA TODAY their stores will be closed.

Stores will reopen at 6 a.m. local time on Black Friday, the company confirmed to USA TODAY.

  • Kroger: Closing times vary by location
  • Food Lion: Closing times vary by location
  • Meijer: 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Whole Foods: 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.; stores in Massachusetts, Maine and Rhode Island will be closed
  • Harris Teeter: Stores close at 2 p.m.
  • Wegman's: Stores close at 4 p.m.
  • Safeway
  • Albertsons
