Jaguar releases 'fearless' Type 00 concept as company steers into new rebrand

Jaguar is taking us on a ride with its new rebrand.  

On Monday, the luxury vehicles company unveiled its Jaguar Type 00 concept model at Miami Art Week calling the electric vehicle “Jaguar at its best”, the company’s press release said.  

“Global re‑emergence of Jaguar at Miami Art Week emphasizes its purpose as an advocate for art, in a celebration of British artists and creativity”, Jaguar said.  

Since announcing the rebrand last month, Jaguar plans to focus on its original ethos to “Copy Nothing” created by its founder Sir William Lyons. In addition, the company plans to drive into this new transformational journey with a distinctive design vision concept at the center of its focus, the release said.

Jaguar Type 00 makes a ‘fearless’ statement with concept release  

“The magic of Jaguar is close to my heart – an original British luxury brand unmatched in its heritage, artistry and emotional magnetism,” Adrian Mardell, chief executive officer at Jaguar Land Rover, said in a statement. “That’s the Jaguar we are recapturing and we will create the same sense of awe that surrounded iconic models like the E‑type. Our journey is already underway, guided by our original ethos to Copy Nothing – and the results will be spectacular.” 

“We have forged a fearlessly creative new character for Jaguar that is true to the DNA of the brand but future facing, relevant and one that really stands out,” Rawdon Glover, the managing director at Jaguar, said in a statement.  

The electric vehicle is “unique and different to the norm. It features a long bonnet, sweeping roofline, fastback profile, and 23‑inch alloy wheels for a dramatic silhouette, Jaguar said.  

“A fearless new face for Jaguar. Flush surfaces. Glassless rear tailgate and panoramic roof with body‑harmonized glazing create a sense of sculpture,” the luxury vehicles company said.  

As Jaguar shifts into a new lane that embodies their new identity the company plans to emphasize symbols of change while keeping recognizable characteristics of their brand like the leaper. The model is expected to be revealed in late 2025 and built in the UK, the release said.  

Miami Pink and London Blue

Type 00 was shown in two colors: Miami Pink and London Blue.

“Satin Rhodon Rose. Dubbed ‘Miami Pink’ in honor of the city’s iconic architecture. Inspired by the distinctive rose color of brass as it ages,” Jaguar said on its website. “Inception Silver Blue. Dubbed ‘London Blue’ in honor of British creativity. Inspired by the Opalescent Silver Blue of the 1960s Jaguar E-type.” 

Jaguar said that the Type 00 model will use dedicated Jaguar Electric Architecture and target a range of up to 478 miles and 430 miles EPA. The Type 00 is expected to add 200 miles of charge in as little as 15 minutes, the luxury vehicles company said.
