Walmart unveils 'modern' new logo. The internet can’t see the difference.

Walmart unveiled a "comprehensive brand refresh" Monday that the company says reflects its "evolution as a people-led, tech-powered omnichannel retailer."

According to a news release, the updated branding will "better represent who Walmart is today." The company said some of the key features of the brand refresh include a wordmark inspired by Sam Walton's classic trucker hat and brought to life with a "modern, custom font that differentiates Walmart from the crowd."

Additionally, the spark "exudes the energy of Walmart" and the color palette "leans on the retailer's most recognizable tones and its heritage of blue, while ushering in new updates to keep the brand fresh," the company said.

Walmart said it will begin applying the refreshed branding across various channels and customer touchpoints, including its website, app, and stores, in January 2025. The retailer said the process began to roll out in October 2024 and remaining stores will continue to be redesigned over time.
