The Daily Money: Trump takes aim at DEI
Good morning! It’s Daniel de Visé with your Daily Money, new president edition.
Making good on his campaign pledge to roll back diversity, equity and inclusion across federal government, President Donald Trump has already thrown the weight of the White House behind growing Republican opposition to diversity measures that he says discriminate against white Americans.
An executive order signed Monday rescinds Biden administration orders that put much of the DEI apparatus in place.
A work-around for return-to-office mandates
‘Tis the season to be…..coffee badging?
The new year traditionally marks the time U.S. corporations require employees to return to the office, rolling back remote-work policies from the start of the COVID-10 pandemic, Paul Davidson reports.
And that means it’s also the season for workers to try to beat the system.
TikTok is still ticking
In one of his first moves following his inauguration, President Donald Trump issued an executive order Monday aiming to halt enforcement of a ban on TikTok in the U.S. for 75 days.
The order comes after TikTok abruptly shut down in the U.S. over the weekend, only to sputter back to life, based on assurances from Trump. Service was swiftly restored to the popular short-form video app Sunday, although Apple and Google haven't returned it to their app stores for downloading.
Now, millions of Gen Zers (among others) wonder what's next.
