The Daily Money: Can Trump lower interest rates?
Good morning! This is Betty Lin-Fisher with Friday's consumer-focused edition of The Daily Money.
President Donald Trump said on Thursday that he'll demand lower interest rates immediately during video remarks made at the World Economic Forum.
Trump revived a campaign he waged during his first term: trying to browbeat Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell and other Fed officials into lowering rates, reports my colleague Paul Davidson.
How could the president's remarks affect the economy?

Will an AI-designed 3D printed slide shoe catch on?
Last week, I interviewed Joe Foster, the 89-year-old co-founder of Reebok and Ben Weiss, a 25-year-old entrepreneur. The two have teamed up with other advisers, including Kevin Harrington of Shark Tank fame, to release what they say is the first AI-designed, fully 3D printed shoe commercially available to consumers.
The slide shoe, which sells for $149.99, gets its design inspiration from a yacht and a spaceship, Weiss said.
The team is banking on the popularity of slides being big with the work-from-home-culture.
Take a look at the story I worked on with some really cool graphics from my colleague Stephen Beard.
