Wegmans recalls chicken nuggets after bone fragments found in meat: See states impacted
Chicken nuggets sold in eight states are being recalled after bone fragments were discovered in some of the meat.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service on Monday issued a public health alert for frozen, fully cooked Wegmans breaded chicken breast nuggets.
Wegmans Food Markets, headquartered in Gates, New York, issued a voluntary recall for the chicken nuggets on Jan. 24.
According to a notice from the USDA, the agency was notified of the issue after Wegmans received multiple consumer complaints of bone fragments in the frozen fully cooked breaded chicken breast nugget product.
Although the product has not been in stores for months, some customers may have frozen the product for later consumption.
