Transit worker 'in shock' after winning $1 million Powerball prize: 'Did we buy real tickets?'
A New Jersey woman was so "in shock" when she learned that she had won the $1 million Powerball prize that she called her husband to verify the winning numbers.
Stacey Fiore purchased her tickets from a Quick Stop convenience store earlier this month and "pulled a quick pick for her games," according to a news release from the New Jersey Lottery.
Fiore discovered she had won after checking her numbers on the lottery app, but she thought it was too good to be true.
“It said ‘Congratulations. You won a million dollars, ” she told lottery officials. “I checked again, and it said again that I won."

'Better not be messing with me'
Per the news release, Fiore joked that she usually doesn't trust her husband, Greg, to check the numbers, but she called him for confirmation. And he did. Her numbers were 11, 24, 50, 56, and 66. The lottery noted that only her Powerball number did not match the ticket.
“I told him he better not be messing with me,” Stacey said. “And did we buy real tickets?”
She continued, “I was just in shock. You wait your whole life for this, and you are still in shock,” she said.
She joked about leaving her job, but continues to work as a supervisor for the New York City MTA in Staten Island, about an hour from where she lives in Barnegat Township.
She and her husband don't have any concrete plans for the money, but a luxurious vacation is not out of the question.
“Our kids…they are happy for us. But they do know Christmas is coming," Greg told lottery officials.
