Tesla, Kia, Jeep among more than 700,000 vehicles recalled: Check recent car recalls here
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued multiple recalls last week, including notices for nearly 700,000 Tesla vehicles over tire pressure monitoring system issue.

Jeep recall for rearview camera issue
Nearly 80,000 Jeep vehicles were recalled for a software issue that could cause the rearview camera to not display.

Dealers will repair the software bug for free. Owner notification letters are set to be mailed Jan. 21, 2025, according to the NHTSA. Owners can contact FCA customer service at 1-800-853-1403 and FCA's number for the recall is D5B.

- 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee
- 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee L
- 2024 Jeep Wagoneer
- 2024 Jeep Grand Wagoneer
Alfa Romeo
Just over 2,000 Alfa Romeo vehicles were recalled for an issue that could cause the brake pedal to detach from the brake booster.
Repairs will be completed by dealers for free, if a fix is necessary. Owner notification letters are set to be mailed Feb. 7, 2025. Owners can contact FCA customer service at 1-800-853-1403, while FCA's number for this recall is E0B, according to the NHTSA.

- 2019-2020 Alfa Romeo Stelvio
Kia recall for potential fuel leak
Kia is recalling 1,385 of its 2025 Sorento Plug-In Hybrid vehicles.
The automobile manufacturer said in the NHTSA recall report that during a crash, the steering rack may damage the fuel line which can cause a fuel leak.
A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire, the report said.
Kia dealers will install a cover around the fuel line for free, the report said. Recall notification letters are expected to be mailed January 10, 2025. Owners may contact Kia customer service at 1-800-333-4542. Kia's number for this recall is SC328.

General Motors recall for pedestrian sound malfunction
General Motors is recalling 7,606 of its 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV vehicles.
The automotive manufacturer said the pedestrian alert sound system may have incorrect software and may fail to make a sound, the NHTSA report said.
A vehicle that fails to make a noise when a pedestrian is near the vehicle can increase the risk of an injury, the report said.
As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 141, "Minimum Sound Requirements for Hybrid and Electric Vehicles."
To fix the issue, dealers will update the software in the body control modules for free, the report said. Recall notification letters are expected to be delivered by Jan. 27, 2025. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is N242479760.

Tesla recall for tire pressure monitoring system defect
Tesla is recalling 694,304 of its vehicles.
In the NHTSA report, the automotive company said that the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) warning light may not remain illuminated between drive cycles and fail to warn the driver of low tire pressure.
Driving with improperly inflated tires increases the risk of a crash, the report said.
The report says these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 138, "Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems."
Tesla released a free over-the-air software update, the report said. Recall notification letters are expected to be sent by Feb. 15, 2025. Owners may contact Tesla customer service at 1-877-798-3752. Tesla's number for this recall is SB-24-00-018.

Car parts recalls
Prinx Chengshan Tire North America recalls tires for lack of snow traction
A California-based tire company has recalled over 540,000 replacement tires mistakenly labeled as snow traction products, according to the recall from the NHTSA.
In the report, Prinx Chengshan Tire North America Inc. has issued a recall for 541,632 tires from both Fortune Tormenta and Prinx HiCountry.
The tires are labeled as snow tires but lack “sufficient traction to perform in all snow weather conditions,” the NHTSA said, and tires that lack the proper traction in snow can increase the risk of a crash.
The tire manufacturer said that a remedy is currently under development, the report said. Recall notification letters are expected to be sent by Feb. 1, 2025. Owners may contact PCTNA customer service at 1-310-205-8355 x 109.

Nuna Baby Essentials recalls RAVA car seats
Nuna Baby Essentials issued a voluntary recall for 608,786 of its RAVA child seats with a plastic harness adjuster button, according to the recall report by the NHTSA.
Debris may enter the front harness adjuster of the recalled car seats and cause the mechanism to fail, the recall report said. The report said that this can result in a loose harness.
If a child is placed in the recalled car seat, the harness may not restrain the child properly and increase the risk of a crash, the report said.
The recalled car seats were manufactured between July 16, 2016, and Oct. 25, 2023, the recall report said.
