Gotta catch 'em all: What to know about the McDonald's Pokémon Happy Meal collab

Trainers assemble! McDonald’s is teaming up with Pokémon, offering 4-card boosters and activity sheets in special Happy Meals through late February.

Each Happy Meal includes a Pokémon booster pack with four of 15 Pokémon cards, a Pokémon poster and a sticker sheet they can use to decorate the poster, according to McDonald’s.

When players buy a Happy Meal through the McDonald’s app, they can also get 24-pack hourglasses and 12 wonder hourglasses to use in the mobile Pokémon Trading Card Game, McDonald’s and Pokémon announced Tuesday.

“Much like they do for McDonald’s, our fans have deep nostalgia and love for the Pokémon brand,” said Guillaume Huin, senior marketing director at McDonald’s, in a news release. “We’re thrilled to build on those great memories and create a new moment of fun and happiness with the new Pokémon Happy Meal.”

  • Charizard
  • Pikachu and Dragonite together
  • Rayquaza
  • Roaring Moon

What’s in store from McDonald’s for Pokémon GO fans?

McDonald’s also shared a reminder about the Pokémon GO activation that started last month, allowing trainers to stop at sponsored PokéStops or gyms at McDonald’s restaurants in the U.S.

The events, which take place over several weeks, will allow trainers to visit McDonald’s locations and find Pokémon attracted by Lure Modules and participate in five-star raids at McDonald’s Gyms.

The events will be active from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time each day during the following weeks:

  • Jan. 20 to Jan. 26
  • Feb. 10 to Feb. 16
  • March 10 to March 16
